Cow's milk allergy is indeed a common condition occurring in approximately 5% of infants. There is no need, however, to panic and label everything as a dairy allergy – mostly influenced by articles from internet "experts".
They are NOT an indication of cow's milk allergy:
→ Mucus in stools
→ More watery stools
→ Different stool colors e.g. yellow green
→ Restlessness – mild constipation
Cow's milk allergy has specific clinical manifestations:
→ Blood in stool
→ Eczema (atopic dermatitis)
→ Vomiting
→ Intense colic
→ Weight stagnation
→ Wheezing (bronchospasm)
Therefore, new nursing mothers, don't put yourself through the exhausting diet of depriving yourself of dairy or other foods such as e.g. the egg and the beef. Consult your pediatrician before suffering unnecessarily!
