NHS FLU GUIDANCE

Based on the latest NHS Guidelines for influenza: ▪️ Treatment remains ONLY the use of antipyretics and proper hydration - nutrition. ▪️ Tamiflu (oseltamivir) is NOT given to the general pediatric population (as unfortunately is done recklessly) except in complicated cases of influenza: ✔️ Severe lower respiratory tract infection (hypoxemia, dyspnea, etc.). ✔️ CNS (central nervous system) complications. ✔️ Underlying pediatric diseases (such as immunosuppression, diabetes mellitus, etc.). ▪️ The recommendation is therefore mainly in these conditions and for in-hospital use. Finally, in case of use, it must be given within 48 hours of the onset of symptoms.
