Fever in children is a common phenomenon that can cause concern for parents. It is important to understand what a fever is, what the normal temperature range is for children, and how environmental factors can affect it. <\/span>A fever is a body temperature that rises above what is considered normal. Normal temperature in children ranges between 36 and 37.2 C (affected by exercise, ambient temperature, clothing, time of day)<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2192 Raised temperature: 37.2 to 38 C\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

How is it measured?<\/span><\/h2>\n

\u2192 On the dry armpit with a digital thermometer<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2192 Three consecutive measurements in a half-naked child<\/span><\/p>\n

What do we give?<\/span><\/h2>\n
    \n
  • Paracetamol (Depon) half of the child's weight in ml e.g. in a child 10kgr \u2013 5 ml Depon, in a child 12kgr- 6 ml Depon<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Ibuprofen (algofren) \u2153 of the child's weight in ml, e.g. for a child of 10 kg - 3.3 ml of algofren, for a child of 12 kg 4 ml of algofren\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  • ALGOFREN in infants over 6 months<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Alternate Depon-Algofren every 3-4 hours in fever over 38 C<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Between high fever warm compresses<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Plenty of fluids<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Light diet<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Light clothes<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    • hemorrhagic rashes i.e. rashes that do not go away do not whiten even momentarily with pressure<\/span><\/li>\n
    • high fever over 40<\/span><\/li>\n
    • severe headache with stiff neck;\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
    • inability to feed hydration<\/span><\/li>\n
    • lethargy lethargy even in the intervals when the child was not taken by you<\/span><\/li>\n
    • difficulty breathing<\/span><\/li>\n
    • severe abdominal pain<\/span><\/li>\n
    • fever for more than 48 to 72 hours<\/span><\/li>\n
